Puthumana House, located in Thabore Post, Mookkannoor, Angamaly, Kerala lies at an elevation of approximately 300  feet above sea level. This elevation is typical of the region, which is part of the Western Ghats, offering a moderate height compared to the more mountainous areas nearby. The area enjoys a tropical climate, with lush greenery and a scenic landscape characteristic of Kerala’s diverse topography.

Why Mookkannoor’s Air Quality is Excellent

  1. Natural Greenery: The area is surrounded by nature reserves, forests, and agricultural land, contributing to lower levels of pollution.
  2. Low Industrial Activity: Unlike major cities, Mookkannoor does not have heavy industries, which helps maintain the air quality.
  3. Minimal Traffic Congestion: The absence of dense traffic means fewer vehicular emissions, further preserving the quality of air.

Thank you, James and Honey, for your generous hospitality and friendship in your home. Our short visit was extremely relaxing in the tranquil surroundings of your farm and plantation. We enjoyed the large variety of Keralan dishes freshly prepared using home-grown ingredients. Fascinating to take a stroll around the plantation and enjoy the scenery and views.

I knew didn’t want to stay in an anonymous hotel. I wanted to feel connected with hosts, animals, nature. It was the right decision. You will never feel lost in Puthumana Heritage, in the middle of trees with: Nutmegs, Papaya, Jackfruits, Pineapples and more. Whatsmore, the food was just delicous, kerala style, I enjoyed so much. I felt fully welcomed, thank you dear family.

This is the most amazing place. The garden is beautiful with so many exotic flowers. The hosts, James and Honey, are kind, generous and caring. Honey’s cooking is exceptional, even made a beautiful birthday cake for me plus flowers and candles, all laid out in the garden with a princess vine arbour. We have had a wonderful time here - watching the buffalo being milked, visiting the hanging bridge and walking in the peaceful countryside. We would have no hesitation in recommending Puthumana Heritage.

We stayed 3 nights in Puthumana. I travelled the world - this is one of the best places ever. They have 3 wonderful bedrooms with AC.The best of all, however, is the wonderful food they offer. If you are a non-indian person forget what you had so far and what they called excellent indian food in your country. This is the place to stay in order to get delicious indian (homemade!) food.

A truly lovely place. A little paradise near the airport and incredibly clean. Away from the chaos but in the middle of the beautiful nature of Kerala.

Such a lovely visit. We stopped for lunch and the most wonderful tour here. Honey and James were so kind and welcoming. James gave us the most amazing tour of their beautiful plantation. He was so knowledgeable, really absolutely fascinating. Then we sat down to probably the best meal we had during our whole stay in India, lots of local dishes and a beautifully cooked beautiful meal. Thank you to you both, it was an experience we will never forget. And if you’re staying (we didn’t in this occasion ) the rooms looked wonderful too.

This was our last day before returning to the UK, but we should have allowed ourselves more time for a longer stay. James, Honey and family were very welcoming. The food was 5* plus and plenty of it. The surroundings are beautiful and we enjoyed the tour of the farm with our host. We would definitely recommend staying here.Sue and Janis.

While in India for the first visit I was recommended to stay at the Puthumana Heritage in Kerla. What a great place to stay so relaxing and the most welcoming hosts James and his family. The food so good and room very comfortable. Would have no hesitation in recommended you stay for the peace and tranquility when ever you visit Kerla. P.S. Let Anthony collect you in the vintage Ambassador.

We had a wonderful stay here. The whole family was so welcoming and kind. We had a most interesting tour of the farm with James who showed us his mangosteen, nutmeg, and cashew nuts amongst other crops. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable, and the food was truly the best we have eaten on Kerala - and we have eaten well everywhere. Would recommend.
